Consumers are receiving phone calls and text messages that appear to be from their financial institution asking the consumer to verify transactions on their account for potential fraud. The Fraudster will then ask the consumer for their personal information or online banking information.
If you ever feel suspicious or uneasy about a phone call or text message, do not answer any personal questions or questions regarding your account. Hang up and call your branch directly. Community First bank will not ask for online banking login credentials to confirm fraudulent transactions.
